We also have another important update for you: on the website, you will find the technical details with all the lengths and elevations according to the categories for each scheduled stage. As spring progresses and the relative thaw, the trackers will carry out further inspections of the land to make the necessary adjustments. Finally, at the end of April, all the definitive routes will be published.
Proceeding, however, with knowledge of the locations of the competitions, Stage 2 will be held on Monte Zucco, in the hamlet of Tai in the municipality of Pieve di Cadore. Its summit at an altitude of 1196 meters is known for the stupendous panorama of Cadore, the Valle del Boite, and the town of Perarolo.
Further characterizing the area is Forte Col Vaccher. Already built in 1885, it was designed by the Italian Army to control the territory and the roads between the confluence of the Valle del Boite and of the Piave. Large and robust construction, it was equipped with an armament of cannons and rapid-fire pieces. In front of the left side ran an impediment ditch 5 meters wide and equally deep, crossed by a bridge that allowed access to the main entrance, barred by an iron-covered wooden door. The right flank covered the area surrounding the Rio Secco, the slopes of Nebbiù and Vissà, and the pass of Tai.
It could have housed 3⁄4 of a company and an artillery posse of 60-70 men. The extraordinary breadth of the panorama is the reason that prompted the Royal Supreme Command to build the fort, located in a strategic geographical position.
Cadore will be a real discovery between history, nature, and sport.

Abbiamo anche un altro importante aggiornamento per te: sul sito trovi il dettaglio tecnico con tutte le lunghezze e i dislivelli in funzione delle diverse categorie per ogni tappa in programma. Con l’avanzare della primavera e il relativo disgelo, i tracciatori provvederanno ad effettuare ulteriori sopralluoghi sul terreno per apportare i necessari aggiustamenti. A fine aprile verranno, infine, pubblicati, tutti i percorsi definitivi.
Procedendo, invece, con la conoscenza delle location delle gare, lo Stage 2 si terrà sul Monte Zucco, nella frazione di Tai del Comune di Pieve di Cadore. La sua cima a quota 1196 metri è nota per lo stupendo panorama sul Cadore, sulla Valle del Boite e sull’abitato di Perarolo.
A caratterizzare ulteriormente l’area è il Forte Col Vaccher. Costruito già nel 1885, era stato progettato dall’Esercito italiano per controllare il territorio e le strade fra la confluenza della Valle del Boite e quella del Piave. Grande e robusta costruzione, fu dotato di un armamento di cannoni e pezzi a tiro rapido. Davanti al fianco sinistro correva un fossato d’impedimento largo 5 metri e altrettanto profondo, attraversato da un ponte che permetteva l’accesso all’entrata principale, sbarrata da un portone di legno coperto di ferro. Il fianco destro copriva la zona circostante il Rio Secco, i pendii di Nebbiù e Vissà e la sella di Tai.
Avrebbe potuto ospitare 3⁄4 di una compagnia e un drappello d’artiglieria di 60-70 uomini. La straordinaria ampiezza del panorama è il motivo che spinse il Regio Comando Supremo alla costruzione del forte, posto in una posizione geografica strategica.
Il Cadore sarà una vera e propria scoperta tra storia, natura e sport.
