FABIO VETTORI X 5 DAYS MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO 2025

This talented artist from Trentino is renowned for his ant-themed drawings and has now tried his hand at orienteering. The result? A surprising illustration that combines irony, detail and fantasy.

“The ant Artist”

Fabio Vettori is an Italian illustrator born in Trento in 1957, where he still lives and works today. He is famous for creating the “Formiche” (Italian for ‘ants’), small black characters who star in detailed and ironic scenes depicting urban and natural landscapes, as well as everyday situations.

He has shown a passion for illustration since childhood, creating landscapes rich in detail. The idea for the ants came to him while he was studying surveying, and they have since become his trademark. His interest in detail led him to look for a subject that could multiply within the created scenery: “that’s why I chose ants”.

The 5 Days poster

We asked Fabio to create an illustration inspired by orienteering and the 5 Days 2025 – Madonna di Campiglio event, which is set in the spectacular Brenta Dolomites.

The image depicts an imaginary race winding through the key locations of all 5 DAYS editions. It combines an illustrated map of Trentino with the present, past and future of this event

  • Paganella (2021 and 2023) with its plateaus and forests;
  • Madonna di Campiglio (2018–2022 and 2025), the heart of the upcoming edition;
  • up to Val di Sole, which will host the next edition in 2026.

Set amidst hot air balloons, helicopters, competing athletes, alpine landscapes, cultural and natural details, the work celebrates orienteering as a collective and engaging experience. The Brenta Dolomites dominate the background, reminding us that each 5 Days edition offers an authentic immersion in the Trentino region.

The poster, previewed below, will be available to purchase in two formats during the Madonna di Campiglio event:

  • 35×40 cm for €15
  • and 50×70 cm for €20

Get your copy as a meaningful memory of this event and place.
