Trekking and hiking during 5 Days of Italy

If you are a mountain lover or simply want to visit new and amazing places, you can’t miss the opportunity to hike to 3 Cime di Lavaredo and other stunning location in Auronzo di Cadore valley.
Here are our top five trekking suggestions to try if you are coming to the 5 Days of Italy 2019.

Trekking 1 – Former mine of Blenda

Starting directly from the Auronzo Townhall, the path n.11 takes you quicklyup to Crepa Marcia, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the CadoreValley. The path then moves under the dolomitic rocks of Monte Aiarnolaand touches an old mining site of Blenda. From there a quick downhill will take you back to Aronzo.
Path numbers: 11, 10 and 125.  Length: 6km and +400m ascent*

Trekking 2 – 3 Cime di Lavaredo

One of the most scenic hiking path in the world! Starting from Rifugio Auronzo you can enjoy a full tour around the 3Cime di Lavaredo, with breathtaking panoramas all around.
Path numbers: 105 and 101.  Length: 7km and +300m ascent*

Trekking 3 – Lake Misurina, Col de Varda

From Lake Misurina an easy and enjoyable path in the forest leads toward Cadini pinnacles and Col de Varda mountain hut. The spot can also be reached from the south side of Misurina Lake thanks to a lift. From Col de Varda hut a nice scenic (but technical) path will take you over the Misurina’s Ciadin. From there it will be possible to get back to Lake Misurina with the same path.
Path number: 120. Length: 6km and +400m ascent.*

Trekking 4 – Rocca di Campo

From the 5 Days of Italy 2019 5th stage you can easily lift up to over 1900meters above sea level with a cable car to the Rifugio Col D’La Tenda. Oncethere a nice short loop around Rocca di Campo is a must! That area is inhabited by marmots and chamois, so be quite and you’ll scope some.
Path number: 126. Length: 5km and +400m ascent.*

Trekking 5 – 3 Cime di Lavaredo Royal Tour

An extended version of the 3Cime Tour, perfect if you are willing to spend a beautiful day on the mountains! From Malba Rinbianco a steep path will take you shortly toCol di Mezzo, just under the3 Cime di Lavaredo; from there you will reach Malga Grava Longia and loop around the iconic three peaks. Once in Forcella Lavaredo, you’ll have the opportunity to lengthen theitinerary and visit the War Memorial, which worth a visit! Back to Rifugio Auronzo, you will reach Malga Rinbianco trough a gravel road between ancient firs and scenic mountain ponds.
